Cannes Lions is more than a global celebration for the creative industries. It’s a place to level up, experiment ideas and learn from (and alongside) cutting-edge creative minds.

For the past decade, the Berlin School has partnered with Cannes Lions to offer a premiere learning experience at their International Festival of Creativity. This unique fusion of festival and classroom is called the Cannes Creative Leadership Programme (CCLP). Through it, participants will be one step (at least) ahead of the pack at Cannes.

The CCLP is nine solid days of learning, discovery and, of course, celebration! Starting with four days of intense classroom learning, strategically scheduled just prior to the festival’s start, participants work together to break open their current business challenges and explore cutting-edge leadership perspectives. Then, armed with fresh knowledge and newly focused goals, they dive into their own tailor-made week at Cannes, complete with daily closed-door masterclasses as well as festival workshops, ceremonies, networking events and, let’s face it, jaw-dropping sights, celebrations and fine French bubbly.

Who should attend

The Cannes Creative Leaders Programme is tailor-made for agency, consultancy, and corporate leaders – or even better, suppliers and clients together – who want to gain a better and more creative understanding of contemporary business challenges and ask the burning question about the creative industries. Each year, a new topic is selected in alignment with the festival´s curation, and the programme content is built from the Berlin School’s distinctive foundations in Creative Business Leadership.

Leveraging Creativity in Ambiguity

For 2020, the CCLP will focus on the big strategic challenge facing agencies, brands, client-side marketers and entrepreneurs alike – how to utilize creativity to seek the truth in times of uncertainty. Faced with rapid change and access to vast quantities of information, business leaders must investigate the true purpose of their brand, the value they offer their customers, and the real insights behind what all this data is truly telling us.

Data is seen as a means to the truth, yet it’s still highly ambiguous. Everything is data-driven nowadays, but where does the data drive us? Without creativity, data stalls. It has no story, no truth – no value.

And so, the power lies in creative minds to think up meaningful ways to leverage data insights. Creatively. Year after year, harnessing this creativity has become more crucial than ever, as companies compete to innovate, communicate and deliver true value to their customers, clients and partners.

After working on their own real-life business challenges throughout the festival, participants will return to their workplaces equipped with a new mindset, skillset and the confidence to make strategic decisions in 2020 and beyond.
