Tokyo: Venturesome City

Tokyo – one of the most populous cities in the world. An urban center that is generally safe, clean, and packed with attractive cultural amenities. How did Tokyo develop?  What’s the secret to its current success?  And can this success continue as Japan’s population ages and its relative economic importance dwindles? This course explores the potential of Tokyo as a “venturesome city”; as a place where innovation can thrive, and the implications that has for the city, the country, Asia and the world.
