Service Management

Providing an introduction to service management and background for fieldwork in Japanese consumer behavior, this forerunner course for “Value Co-creation” helps participants grasp key concepts and frameworks in the area and introduces them to a pioneering way of thinking: Service Dominant Logic (SDL). Looking at real-world examples of SDL in Japan and beyond, the course analyzes the advantages of blurring traditional goods-service distinctions, focusing on “value-in-use” and viewing customers as “co-producers” of value.  Participants then explore possibilities in their own markets for developing or redefining businesses with SDL.
