Otis leads the way at GERTRUDE by drawing on experience working in all facets of advertising. An art director at the core, Otis has been on the creative and management front lines delivering results for a diverse portfolio of brands including Absolut Vodka, adidas, American Express, Anheuser-Busch, BellSouth, Champion USA, The Chicago White Sox, The Coca-Cola Company, The Disney Channel, Gatorade, IBM, Ford Motor Company, L’Oreal, Kellogg’s, McDonald’s, MTV Networks, Nissan, Sunkist, Toyota, QVC and UPS.


Before founding GERTRUDE, Otis worked at some of the most respected advertising agencies in the world including Gyro Worldwide and LHC Lintas. He was the creator of Unit2, a youth division of Winston-Salem, N.C.–based Long Haymes Carr (now Mullen) and responsible for securing Red Storm Entertainment (a software publisher co-founded by best-selling author Tom Clancy) as its inaugural client. Otis also served as Vice President / Creative Director at Leo Burnett U.S.A., where he led the young adult focused (16-25) strategic, creative and executional development of the United States Army’s breakthrough “An Army of One” campaign which achieved 100% of recruiting goals one month ahead of schedule.
