Enrique Márquez Guerin

Strategic Director
United States
Class 11

As Director of Strategy for Lapiz, Enrique is responsible for strategic direction of the agency and the complete portfolio of Allstate, Kellogg’s, P&G Brands, Mazola, Bush’s Beans and Chobani. He implemented the first Shopper Marketing study for the US Hispanic market and won 3 Effies in the last 3 years making Lapiz the most Effie winning agency in the market. His work also brought the first HAPE Award (Hispanic Account Planning Award) in the history of the agency.

Part of Enrique’s reason for coming to the Berlin School is to learn how to create more than just great ideas. “After more than 15 years of working with ideas, coming up with another campaign for a new idea is not as sexy as assembling a team that can create a lot of them.”

In addition to Lapiz, Enrique has worked for LatinWorks in Austin, TX as Innovation Director, Leo Burnett Puerto Rico, TBWA, and JWT in the Planning and Accounts departments, as well as TV Azteca Mexico where he was Head of reporters. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences from the Monterrey Institute of Technology. In addition to the Effies, he won 2 Gold Lions at Cannes as well as a number of other awards from prestigious festivals. Before starting in Advertising, Enrique was a professional soccer player for a 2nd Division professional league in Mexico.
