All Great Creative Work Has One Thing in Common – Leadership

The Business School designed for the creative industries

Theories can help you grasp principles you need to lead, but the realities of both the business and creative worlds demand leaders who have much more than theory behind them. Because of the breakneck pace of change that’s now common in practically every creative industry, simply staying on top of the most recent developments can be a huge challenge. To achieve real success, you have to do more than just keep up. You have to pioneer and innovate, and inspire your team to do the same. We inspire participants to not just learn but to take their learnings and push boundaries in their fields. Our faculty made up of top experts from academia and top executives from the creative industries, will help inspire, challenge, and guide you toward creative leadership excellence.

“By challenging convention, the Berlin School has set out to educate and inspire a new breed of thinkers and leaders in creative enterprises.”
Michael Conrad
Berlin School President

Learn from the industry’s best

The school’s faculty is made up of not only leading academics but also renowned industry experts and specialized trainers. With their help and guidance, participants acquire the tools they need to lead, learning how to shoulder more responsibility and become effective, creative leaders at their companies. Just as important for degree candidates is the peer learning that takes place during modules. Each class brings together a multidisciplinary group of experienced leaders from the creative industries, and their collaboration intensifies the challenging and rewarding learning experience. It also brings a further big advantage: By the time they finish our program, graduates are part of a network of fellow professionals that spans the globe.

Our Approach

Ideas can only be nurtured to fruition by a trusted and skilled creative leader. Saying you are a leader is not enough, it is more than just a title. You also have to have the leadership skills and tools to bring your vision to life. Executives in the creative industries reach the top by proving their creative ability, but once there, they often face unfamiliar challenges. Our programs provide both creative executives and managers from a range of other industries with the framework they need to evolve into great creative leaders.

Executive MBA in Creative Leadership

The heart of the Berlin School is the Global Part-Time Executive MBA at Steinbeis University Berlin, a program that participants usually complete in 18-24 months.

Executive Education

Our compact, non-degree programs provide participants with unique opportunities to develop valuable leadership skills while benefiting from special access to major industry events and key regional markets.

Meet the People

History and Structure

The Berlin School was founded in 2006 by a group of executives from a range of creative sectors who were tired of the tyranny of the average. The founding partners were Steinbeis University Berlin and the Art Director's Club. Within a decade, what began as a simple idea has grown into a business school with an international reputation for excellence – with an executive education that provided a truly unique approach to the challenges faced by leaders in creative businesses.

By donating time as lecturers, many industry experts support our vision, as do numerous companies and institutions. The latter also help make our programs available to a wide range of applicants by providing scholarships.
