Marie has worked in international academic education for many years, and now brings this expertise to the Berlin School of Creative Leadership. As Program Manager, she is responsible for ensuring that the program runs smoothly, taking care of the student and alumni enquiries and supporting them throughout the time they spend with the Berlin School.
Biography
Marie joined the Berlin School of Creative Leadership team in December 2011. Born and raised in the German city of Bonn she left for London after finishing school to study Drama and Theatre Studies at Royal Holloway University of London. Following a few exciting years of life and work in the UK (London and Brighton) she relocated back to Germany. This time to study quite at the opposite end of her home country, in the small Eastern German town of Cottbus about 30 km from the Polish border. Here she completed her M.A. in World Heritage Studies under the umbrella organization of UNESCO focussing on Cultural Studies, PR and International Relations in education and arts.
Moving to Berlin she began to work with the Gesellschaft fuer technische Zusammenarbeit (German Technical Cooperation) using her expertise for a world-wide-photo project in art in development work under the patronage of Yoko Ono. After this Marie continued her career with a brand new program set up for international students joining Freie Universitaet Berlin. In between there were many more short term work stays with international institutes in countries such as Mongolia, Uganda or Hungary.
