Profile

Professor Jean-Marie Hiltrop (Lic., MA, MBA, PhD) specialises in international human resource management, leadership and organisational behaviour. His career includes professorial appointments and teaching executive development programmes at several leading business schools, including the International Institute for Management Development (IMD) in Lausanne, IESE Universidad de Navarra in Barcelona, the University of Cape Town Graduate School of Management, the Copenhagen Business School, the European School for Management and Technology in Berlin, the International University Bremen, TiasNimbas, the business school of Tilburg University and Eindhoven University of Technology, in The Netherlands, the Berlin School of Creative Leadership and the Bradford University Management Centre in England.

Biography

He has worked as coach, trainer, facilitator and adviser for many international companies, including amongst others Unilever, Quest International, Sun Microsystems, Henkel, Mattel, Orange, IBM, SNS Reaal Groep, Randstad, Fortis, Dako, Nokia, Nordea, McCain, the Sydney Stock Exchange, Nestlé, Johnson & Johnson, Ely Lilly, Old Mutual, Nordea and Volvo. He is also extensively engaged in individual executive coaching at senior management levels. He has conducted numerous workshops on leadership and human resource management for corporate clients throughout Europe and in Singapore, Russia, China, Central America, Australia and the USA.

He has published numerous articles and books, including ‘European Human Resource Management in Transition’, ‘The Essence of Negotiation’, and ‘The Accidental Manager: Surviving the Transition from Professional to Manager’.

In 2001, he was presented with the Superior Teaching Award at University of Rochester William E. Simon Graduate School of Business Administration. He also is Recipient of the Alumni 1999-2005 Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Global Executive MBA Programme at the Copenhagen Business School, INSEAD’s Center for Advanced Learning Technologies and the Swedish Trade Council.
