Bill Roedy to be next "Godfather"

Former Chairman and CEO of MTV Networks International, Bill Roedy joins the Berlin School of Creative Leadership as the “Godfather” of Class 11. Starting in September 2012, Roedy will attend select program modules and serve as an honorary industry mentor to senior creative industry executives as they complete the Berlin School's five-module global Executive MBA in Creative Leadership program.

Roedy joins previous "Godfathers" who have also generously donated their time and energy to the Berlin School in the past such as Sir John Hegarty (BBH), Keith Reinhard (DDB Worldwide), John Gough (Distraction Formats), Seymour Stein (Sire Records) and most recently Piyush Pandey (Ogilvy & Mather India).

Roedy has already inspired current EMBA participants with the commencement speech he delivered to the 2011 graduating class. Now, he will be able to take a more active role in passing on the experience he learned while leading a television network that spanned 162 countries with content in 33 languages.

“I am so impressed with the caliber of participants at the Berlin School of Creative Leadership,” said Roedy. “I’m excited to discuss ideas with creative executives who are as passionate about what they do as I have always been. Through my work with MTV International, I have learned to lead creative teams in dozens of countries and work across cultures to achieve remarkable results. As a mentor, I want to help the participants develop a formula for success with every one of their companies.”

As CEO and Chairman of MTVNI, Roedy and his team built a global operation that now includes over 172 locally programmed and operated TV channels outside the US, reaching a potential audience of two billion people, making MTVNI one of the largest networks in the world. His book, What Makes Business Rock, details his experience in expanding a corporation and gives advice to executives on how to not only grow a company but ensure its continued success.

“Bill brings a wealth of experience and a high standard for success to the Berlin School and we are thrilled to have him mentor the participants on creative leadership,” said Berlin School President Michael Conrad. “I have no doubt his instruction and advice will be inspirational and valuable for our participants from across all of the creative sectors.”
