Course: Media and Entertainment Branding

Course Objective:
• Learn to use all senses in an environment to gain inspiration
• Understand the branding as a business
• Convince investors the of the value of branding with a business rationale
• Work in groups to develop business ideas in new environments
• Present to critics and potential investors using tools learned throughout the entire module
Course Description:
The course is taught both at the beginning and the end of the module, encompassing many of the lessons and tools learned throughout the two weeks. Creatives will look at branding with new eyes, challenged to target often overlooked groups of people with a new business venture that will be presented to an “investor” who will question their ideas. Each group is assigned a different area of a new city in order to gather ideas and will use their field research in their presentation. In part a preparation for the thesis work, participants will learn use the interview skills they learn in research class and gather information and data for the new business venture. At the end of the course, participants will understand how to better value an idea, present a branding plan with a business mindset and use all their senses to gain inspiration from new environments.
