Mr. Matthias von Bismarck-Osten, Representative of the Investment Bank of Berlin, Welcomes Berlin School Participants
Mr. von Bismarck-Osten explained the role of the IBB and shared his insights on how cities like Berlin invest in the growth of a creative economy.
His presentation focused on the steps that the City of Berlin is taking to support the creative industries. He shared the criteria for investment and discussed some of the common mistakes made by creative entrepreneurs when making proposals to the bank. Often too much emphasis is placed on the creative idea of the business rather than the substantive business planning and strategy needed for growth and profitability, he explained.
Much of the discussion among the Berlin School participants focused on Berlin and other cities as creative hubs and the conditions that foster a healthy creative economy.

Mr. von Bismarck-Osten and Keith Reinhard share a lighter moment
