Position: Senior Vice President, Group Creative Director Getty Images

Short vita: Lewis Blackwell is Senior Vice President, Group Creative Director at Getty Images, the world's leading imagery company. Lewis heads up the creation of images across still and motion imagery collections, working with a team of more than 1,000 photographers, filmmakers, art directors and researchers around the world. He has worked for Getty Images since 1999, and in that time has been involved in numerous projects including brand evolution, business integration and the revitalisation of global image collections. Recent creative initiatives include curating the international survey and exhibition New Photographers 2006; conceiving an interactive multi-site exhibition and website, Before Words, created by a global team of interactive artists; and launching a new research report on creative trends. He is particularly focused on conceiving, driving and supporting changing models of creative work.

Lewis is also an internationally published author and editor of critically acclaimed and best selling books. These include "The End Of Print", "20th Century Type", "G1", "Letters On America" and "Soon: Brands of the Future". Lewis's involvement in education includes acting as a visiting professor at ECAL Art College in Switzerland.

Prior to working at Getty Images, Lewis was for several years the publisher and editor-in-chief of Creative Review magazine. Lewis has also been a consultant in the advertising and publishing arenas, a columnist, and continues to write and lecture widely.
